Our Artist Series Cabernet is effort to highlight the amazing potential that Cabernet Sauvignon has in Washington State. Typically highlighting a single vineyard we give this wine extra attention and aging. In 2012 we began a barrel fermentation program for it and today the wine is 100% barrel fermented and aged in 100% new French oak for 34 months.
The 2013 vintage was a warmer vintage, but cooled off nicely going into the fall. This is the first year of 100% Dineen Fruit and we're very excited about the Cabernet Sauvignon coming out of this vineyard. A cooler site it lends a classic and more restrained style to the wine. The result is a classic Cabernet with aromas of cassis, dark fruits and wood spice, followed by a smooth tannin on the finish.
